Message from the President
Welcome to our website and thank you for checking out Bible Basics International of Canada.
In May 2008 BBIC was formed, joining a growing family whose burden is to reach out with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, the good news of forgiveness and salvation. We unite with Bible Basics International, Ministerios Base Biblica de Honduras, and Missions India. Altogether BBI numbers more than 550 people who have joined hand and hearts to be a faithful witness to the marvelous grace of God as seen in Jesus Christ our Lord.

Bible Basics International was founded by Dr. Eugene Priddy and his wife Monna Dean and their five children. Dr. Priddy started his missionary career with Trans World Radio and served for 16 years in Europe, North Africa, and finally in the US as assistant to the president. In 1973 he felt God leading him to a new ministry and started Bible Basics International.
With encouragement from Dr. Priddy and strong belief that God was leading, four Canadian couples stepped out in faith to expand the ministries of BBI to Canada. Today we have a Canadian board of seven men, unique and diverse in our abilities, but all focused on sharing the Gospel wherever the opportunity arises.
Year 1 - We achieved our three objectives
- Develop a missions statement.
“Bring BBIC to Canadians and Canadians to BBIC ministries.”
- Have one Canadian board member attend a short term evangelistic mission trip (STAR Team) to Honduras.
- Receive approval from Revenue Canada as an approved charity.
Year 2 - We again achieved our three objectives.
- Send financial assistance for the expansion of a missionary training center in the state of Kerla, India.
- Have two Canadian board members be part of a short term evangelistic mission trip (STAR Team) to Honduras.
- Had Dr. Priddy (founder of BBI) come to Canada and attend a BBIC board meeting as well as speak at sponsoring churches.
Year 3 – We have set three objectives for 2010.
- We have sent a couple to the New Delhi area of India (John and Gladys Balaram). They will assess the need, develop a program, and working with a local church, provide teaching to children who live in the slums. Giving them academic and life skills. Qualifying them to enter the public school system. There will be contact with the homes and assistance provided where possible.
- We have set a target of sending four Canadians on the STAR Team missions trip to Honduras in July 2010.
- We have added a professional engineer to the Canadian board, Rodger Stewart, in the role of “Project Engineer.” Rodger has already made a trip to Roatan Honduras to assess the options for the installation of a roof on a new structure that will be used by a local church to provide trade training to the local community.
Haiti Relief – BBIC has joined with BBI in an effort to help the people of Haiti. Our President Evan Drake has worked with an established mission in Haiti called Double Harvest for six years, providing pastoral training to over 100 pastors. We are working with them now, providing training for pastors in grief counseling, supplying tents and tarps to meet immediate temporary shelter, and will be assisting in the days to come with the rebuilding of their homes and churches.
- BBIC has Partnered with three missionary couples.
- David and Megan Guevara – who have started a youth work and church plant in La Ceiba, Honduras.
- Brett and Leanne Pruden – Brett has started as full-time administrative assistant and Technical support at BBI headquarters in Odessa, Florida U.S.A.
- Rev. Herman and Joyce Meister – Herman is now Vice President of International Ministries.
